Classes Offered:


Mommy & Me

Approximate Age: 1 – 2 years

The class is a wonderful introduction to the structure of the classroom while allowing your child the freedom to explore his or her own natural movements. Introduces exercises to help develop gross motor skills, spatial awareness, beginner dance technique and positions, coordination, building upper, lower and abdominal strength, as well as providing a fun experience and parent bonding.

Taught once a week for 45 minutes.


Fairytale Dance

Age: 2 – 4

Expose your child to the wonderful world of dance through story telling, introductory ballet movements, and creative movement. This class allows students to explore music appreciation & rhythmic movement, while learning important skills such as listening and following directions, socialization and team work, self expression, and coordination.

Taught once a week for 45 minutes.


Pre Ballet I

Age: 3 – 4

Designed for young students, this class stresses coordination, motor skills, musical awareness, spatial awareness, and listening skills. Special music and musical instruments help engage the students’ attention and imagination.

Taught twice a week for 1 hour. Students at this level take only one class but are welcome to attend both if desired.


Pre Ballet II

Age: 5 – 6

Pre Ballet II focuses on coordination, motor skills developments, creative expression, musical appreciation, and the relationship between music and dance. Basic ballet steps are incorporated into fun dance exercises that children can enjoy.

Taught twice a week for 1 hour. Students at this level take only one class but are welcome to attend both if desired.

Age: 7 – 9

This class solidly prepares students to advance to the first level of the Vaganova method. Students are taught the fundamentals of the ballet technique and develop the self-discipline necessary to continue the study of classical ballet.

Taught twice a week for one hour and fifteen minutes. Students at this level are encouraged to attend both classes offered if desired.


Beginner

Approximate Age: 9 & Up

Length: 2-3 years

This level is the primary focus of ballet education and technique. This level offers a systematic and consecutive method of training according to the Vaganova method.

When a student reaches the Vaganova II level, it is recommended to attend a minimum of two 1.5 hour classes per week, along with the Stretch class.


Intermediatepre-profesional ballet program

Approximate Age: 12 & Up (Placement by Teacher)

Length: 2-3 years

Students develop practical skills and more complex movements and combinations. Muscular self control and basic coordination and expression is emphasized.

It is strongly recommended for these students to attend a minimum of three ballet classes, each class being 1.5 hours and a one hour Stretch class.

Once a student is introduced to pointe, the Stretch class and a minimum of 3 ballet classes are required weekly. 


Advanced

Approximate Age: 14 & Up (Placement by Teacher)

Length: 4 years

This level concentrates on the mastery of more complex movements, combinations, turns and jumps. The advanced level of study further develops and defines artistic and technical expression. The ongoing development of performance skills is taught and stressed.

It is strongly recommended for these students to attend a minimum of four ballet classes, each class being 1.5 hours and a one hour Stretch class.

Once a student is introduced to pointe, the Stretch class and a minimum of 3 ballet classes are required weekly.


Jazz

Age: 5 & Up

Incorporating a variety of styles, including street jazz, Latin dance, and Broadway dance. Students will learn footwork techniques, isolated movements, syncopation, rhythmical accuracy, along with improving musicality, strength, flexibility, stamina, and body awareness.

Four class levels available. Jazz I, II, III all one hour long. Jazz IV is one hour and fifteen minutes long.


Musical Theater

Age: 8 & Up

A fusion of Jazz, Modern, Contemporary and Broadway styles, techniques and movements choreographed to music used in traditional and modern Musicals and Broadway shows. Dancers will work to develop their on-stage presence and learn to incorporate acting into dance to improve expression and movements.

Two class levels available, taught one hour each.


Tap

Age: 4 & UpBlueSequinSkirt-79

Develops style and is excellent for rhythm, timing, and sharpness of footwork.

Classes start with the basics to both traditional and contemporary tap styles to build a solid tap technique in a fun and supportive environment. Exercises, improvisation skills, and simple combinations give a foundation for learning tap repertory in higher levels. Pace is moderate for the appropriate levels.

Three class levels available, taught one hour each. Adult Tap class available once a week, for one hour..


Contemporary

Age: 6 & Up

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and body through their movement.

Classes combine elements to create a soft style that emphasizes the storytelling quality of music. An emphasis is placed on grace and fluidity, musicality, and expressiveness to capture emotion through movement.

Two strictly contemporary classes available, taught one hour each. Jazz Contemporary III and IV offer two weeks Jazz, two weeks Contemporary.


Stretch & Yoga for Dancers

Approximate Age: 11 & Up

Designed specifically for dancers, this class compliments student’s physical dance regimen, connection to their breath, builds their confidence, prevents injuries, and develops their discipline through necessary stretching and improving flexibility and stamina. The Stretch & Yoga class is required for Vaganova II & III, and any student that is en pointe.


Yoga

Age: 14 & up

Gentle Flow Yoga – a passive approach to Vinyasa Yoga. Poses are sequenced at a slower and gentler pace for less body strain. This practice emphasizes proper posture alignment through breath and body movement.
